      Blackvue DR590-1CH

Blackvue Dash Cam - Now With 2 Year Warranty

      Built-in Impact & Motion Detection

      enables Multiple recording modes

While driving, your BlackVue detects impacts and sudden changes in speed. While parked, it also detects movements*. Videos files are marked accordingly so that you can easily find the relevant ones in the BlackVue Viewer for Windows and Mac OS.  (*) For Parking Mode recording, an external battery pack (Power Magic Battery Pack) or a hardwiring kit (Power Magic Pro) is required.

      BlackVue Viewer (Windows/Mac)

      Easily manage your Video files

The BlackVue Viewer is free to download and use. It lets you easily change your BlackVue configuration settings. Displays videos chronologically and by type (Normal/Event/Parking) to quickly identify and archive important footage.

High Frame Rate for Extra Fluidity

The advantage of 60FPS video capture

The DR590-1CH records extra fluid videos at 60 frames per second, keeping all details sharp even in fast action. With 60fps, motion blur is much reduced compared to 30fps. That means your BlackVue can better capture details–like license plates–even in fast-moving objects.

Loop Recording and Adaptive Format-Free Technology

      Less FORMATTING and smoother recording

Loop Recording: the DR590-1CH records over the oldest video files first when the microSD card is full, in a seamless loop. Adaptive Format-Free Technology: your BlackVue saves and organizes files on the microSD card in a highly efficient way. It reduces the need for formatting the card and prevents file corruption even after multiple write cycles.

      external GPS (OPTIONAL)

Log Speed and location along your videos

The external GPS receiver (approx. 1 meter / 39 inches) adds location and speed data to your videos. Speed: speed data will be overlaid in the video (can be turned off in the settings). You can choose to display the speed in Kilometers per hour (Km/h) or Miles per hour (Mph). Location: you can visualize the location of your vehicle in the BlackVue Viewer’s Map during video playback.

      Mic ON/OFF and Format button

Like every BlackVue dashcam, the DR590-1CH records audio in addition to video. Handy to make oral notes to yourself while keeping your hands on the wheel, record a conversation with a police officer, or capture any sound of impact that might be off-camera. Mic ON/OFF: The DR590-1CH features a physical button to toggle audio recording ON and OFF instantly. Note: please consult your local legislation on the use of audio recording devices in your vehicle. Commercial vehicles may be required to bear a sticker mentioning the presence of an active dashcam. Format microSD: A long press of the button can also be used to format the microSD card without the need for a computer.

      THE SONY STARVIS DIFFERENCE

The Sony STARVIS™ image sensor that equips the DR590-1CH delivers outstanding low-light performance. Additionally, it features Night Vision, which can be activated from the  settings, further enhancing details in dark surroundings. Even with Night Vision OFF, the STARVIS sensor outperforms regular CMOS sensors!

      Parking Mode monitoring

With Power Magic Pro or B-112 Power Magic Battery Pack. Rest easy, knowing that your car is being monitored while you are away. BlackVue automatically switches to Parking Mode to monitor you parked vehicle, but only writes to the memory card when something happens (motion or impact detected), which has two benefits (1) Less chance for important files to be overwritten during long Parking Mode sessions. (2) Extended memory card lifespan in the long run. The dashcam detects movements via the camera sensor and impacts via the gravity sensor. You can choose to record videos in either both scenarios or only when impacts are detected.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Hi, Do you have the DR590 2 channel? Thanks.

The DR590-2CH is not sold by Blackvue in Australia, only the 1CH variant is available. The DR650S-2CH and DR750S-2CH are the only 2 channel models in Australia.

Please contact us if you require pricing or other details.

  • Is it wifi compatible with iPhone 7 in case your in a car crash and you can s e who is a fault and if you or the other petty is speeding and at fault .

The Blackvue DR650S is compatible with ANY Apple or Android based smart phone including the Apple iPhone 7. The beauty of having a Blackvue Dash Camera in your car is the ability to record what is happening around you. So yes, if someone crashes into your vehicle and you are not at fault, then you have some great evidence to give to your Insurance Company or to the investigating Police Officer.

  • If one really only needs a minute or two of footage either side of an accident, why do we need to record 128G of footage? Also, what is the hardwire pack for?

The way Blackvue Dash Cameras, and in fact almost all dash cameras work, is that they record until the memory card is full and then they overwrite themselves. For example, a Blackvue DR650S-2CH with a 16Gb memory card in it operating in Full HD (Front) and HD (Rear) at 30 frames per second will record approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes at the highest quality before overwriting itself. The same mode settings with a 128Gb card will give you 17 hours and 20 minutes before overwriting. Pretty important if you want to ensure that you capture something whilst you are away from the car. This is where your second question becomes important.

Blackvue have two 'hard wire' solutions. The first is the Power Magic Pro. Every single Blackvue Dash Cam purchased will benefit by being coupled with the Blackvue Power Magic Pro. In order to utilise a Parking mode or Motion detection feature on a Dash Cam, the unit requires constant power. This constant power can come from your vehicle via a hardwire kit or an external battery pack such as the B-112 or Cellink-B. The Power Magic Pro is a battery management tool that powers your Dash Cam while monitoring the voltages being output by your car battery to ensure it stays healthy and doesn't go flat. Power Magic Pro checks the health of your battery and has a pre-set “cutoff” point.  If the battery falls to that point the Power Magic Pro will cut power to the Dash Cam to ensure your battery doesn't go flat. Protect your investment and monitor your cars battery health with this great add on device.

The second solution is a battery backup solution and we have the B-112 or the Cellink-B. The B-112 Power Magic Battery Pack is an alternative for those who don't want to hard wire a Power Magic Pro into their vehicle. The B-112 Power Magic Battery Pack is a simple plug-and-use accessory, and no adjustments are needed! It can be installed in minutes and is simple to use. The B-112 is utilized by plugging it into your car's cigarette lighter power outlet. This battery pack is then able to supply power to your dash cam or other 12v accessory via the high-quality Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that is built-in to the unit. Additionally, there are two other USB ports on the B-112 that can supply up to 2A each and charge other devices as well! All in all, the B-112 can provide up to 12 hours without any external power input! The B-112 is compatible with any Blackvue dash camera or any other brand of dash camera.

And lastly there's the Cellink-B. The Cellink-B is renowned as the very best and leading dash camera battery pack for cars. The system was specially designed for use in BMW cars to prevent low voltage warnings. The system is now used in many different high-end vehicle brands and works to offer the user a long duration of CCTV video recording with their dash cam, after only 1 hour of driving time. The high quality lithium-iron phosphate battery means the system can reach temperatures of up to 70’C degrees before the internal computer automatically shuts the system off safely. The CELLINK-B is also very high quality with exceeding reliability and performance, it also offers the longest amount of recording time compared with any other model. Running times include ~20hrs+ for a DR650S-2CH and ~34hrs+ for a single channel dash camera such as the DR650S-1CH). The CELLINK-B is an advanced mobile power station for your dash camera – this is the latest model by the Korean manufacturer, Egens Co. The system works by charging a high quality lithium-iron battery when your car is running. When your car is turned off, the charged battery is then used to provide continuous 12V power to your dash camera without the need to drain any power from your cars battery. This process is very effective in reducing the risk of battery discharge, low voltage warnings and flat batteries.
