You now have the choice of recording high quality video to the 60GB HDD or Memory Stick. Over 41hrs footage can be stored in the camera's 60GB Hard Disk Drive, while 5h 25min can be recorded direct to an optional 8GB Memory Stick. Movies recorded onto Hard Disk Drive can even be copied to Memory stick for easy file transfer!
Face Detection
Face Detection technology ensures that family and friends captured with DCRSR220 are always shown at their best! When the camera detects a human face it automatically adjusts focus, colour control and brightness to ensure that faces are always clear and sharp. Face Detection also works for group shots, with up to 8 faces being tracked at once.
5.1ch Surround Sound Recording
Bring your home movies to life with the addition of a Dolby Digital 5.1 channel sound track! When recorded images are viewed with a 5.1channel Dolby Digital surround sound-compatible device, a lively audio experience is added to the visual pleasure of high-resolution images.
Zoom Microphone
The built in Zoom Microphone automatically "zooms" the lens and microphone sensitivity at the same time. Zooming in on one person in a large crowd will increase the cameras sensitivity to their voice, while other sounds will not be as prominent. The Zoom Microphone closely resembles the natural human experience, where moving closer to a particular object increases the sensitivity to sound coming from that location.
4.0 Mega Pixel Still Image Capture
DCRSR220 allows you to capture high quality 4.0 Mega Pixel still images when in dedicated still mode – with flash and red eye reduction! You can also record a 3.0 Mega Pixel still image at the same time as recording full motion video. This is thanks to the large amount of data that can be transferred from the ClearVid CMOS image sensor to the camera's powerful Bionz processor.
Easy YouTube Upload
The supplied Picture Motion Browser software makes uploading your footage to YouTube (or your favourite online service) easy! PMB automatically converts footage to a smaller file size and assists you in uploading clips to the web.
Backup Footage Direct to DVD Without a PC!
If you want to take advantage of the long recording times offered by a Hard Disk Drive Handycam, however don't have a PC, DVDirect (VRDMC5) is for you! Simply connect your Hard Disk Drive Handycam to the device and burn your memories to DVD. For more information on DVDirect, click the icon on the left. DVDirect is an optional accessory for Handycam.
