The powerfully versatile YHT-1096AU home theatre package boasts all of the features of the RX-V771 AV receiver including network functionality and Zone 2 operation. User-friendly control of the receiver is intuitively simple using Yamaha’s AV Controller app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Using the app, browse and stream music straight from a home computer or log on and access thousands of Internet radio stations. Combined with seven of Yamaha’s famous black gloss speakers and dual subwoofers, the YHT-1096AU ensures a first-class home theatre experience.

Network AV Receiver
The Ethernet port on the YHT-1096AU adds a new level of functionality to an already accomplished AV receiver. By connecting the receiver to a router with Internet access, users can stream thousands of Internet radio stations from the vTuner website. Navigation is via the commonly used location, genre or via particular stations that have been bookmarked. The Ethernet port also provides the ability to stream music stored on a PC, Mac, laptop or NAS device. Simply set-up file sharing and begin playing music from these devices, with album artwork showing on the television.
AV Controller App for Easy, Convenient Operation
Available as a free download from the iTunes store, Yamaha’s AV Controller app allows seamless operation of network capable Yamaha AV receivers and Blu-ray players from anywhere in or outside the home. Playing music stored on a networked computer is as simple as selecting the preferred content and pressing ‘play’ – all on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. With Yamaha’s range of network receivers offering multi-zone operation, the ability to control music from anywhere in the home has arrived.
USB Digital Connection for iPod and iPhone on the Front Panel
Yamaha’s YHT-1096AU home theatre package offers simple plug and play operation for an iPhone or iPod. Attach the white cable supplied with the iPod/iPhone to the USB input on the front of the receiver and navigate the music via the on-screen GUI using the receiver’s remote control. The iPod/iPhone will also conveniently charge while connected to the receiver.
3D Cinema DSP
Utilising front presence speakers (two speakers sitting on near the top corners of the television or projector) Yamaha’s 3D CINEMA DSP provides a 3-dimensional sound field, adding depth and height to the overall soundstage. For movies, this provides precise overhead localisation of sound such as helicopters flying overhead, while for music sources, provides the feeling of being in a large auditorium rather than a small lounge room or theatre room.
High Quality Video Processing
While high definition content such as Blu-ray is readily available, there is still a great deal of standard definition content in many homes - particularly DVD movie collections. High-quality video processing is imperative to ensure DVDs look their best when displayed on a HD 1080p television or projector. The YHT-1096AU uses superior video processing technology, delivering standard definition content in high definition quality.
Zone 2 Operation
The YHT-1096AU incorporates Zone 2 technology making it capable of playing different audio in two separate rooms simultaneously. The kids could watch a Blu-ray movie in the living room for example, while you listen to music out on the deck – all controlled by the one receiver.
Black Gloss Speakers
The YHT-1096AU comes with 7 of Yamaha’s famous black gloss speakers, ensuring this system not only sounds great but looks fantastic. This striking black gloss finish is the same as that used on Yamaha’s prestigious grand piano range!
